Concord, ON, August 17, 2020 - Sunrise Medical Canada Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of the QUICKIE® Q500 H, a hybrid drive power wheelchair. Bringing a unique "hybrid" blend of rear- and mid-wheel technology, the Q500 H delivers impressive outdoor performance coupled with greater indoor maneuverability.

With the drive wheel closer to the mid-position, the Q500 H hybrid has improved traction and a smaller turning radius over a traditional rear-wheel drive and improved outdoor driving over a mid-wheel drive.

The unique and responsive suspension system coupled with the drive wheel placement allows the Q500 H to be one of the most maneuverable rear-wheel drive power wheelchairs in the market today. The innovative, dynamic suspension system actively absorbs impacts over thresholds and uneven terrain to enhance ride comfort, seat stability, and helps reduce fatigue, ultimately extending the time a user can sit in the chair.

The large 9" front casters not only provide a stable ride, but allow allow for smooth curb climbing of up to 3". Additionally, these large casters absorb more impact, giving the user both performance and a smoother ride. The low seat-to-floor height of 16.5" provides great access to a desk or kitchen table and also enables easier transferring.

Available in Group 3 standard and heavy duty (up to 350 lbs.), the Q500 H offers the modular, highly adjustable SEDEO® PRO Seating System which allows for quick and easy adjustments to suit a variety of individual needs and changing requirements.

"As a leader in designing innovative products for the complex rehab industry, we are excited to expand our line of QUICKIE power wheelchairs with the Q500 H," says Bernd Krebs, Chief Technical Officer. "The Q500 H is like nothing else QUICKIE has every done before. It was designed for people who want it all - an ideal balance of robust outdoor performance as well as the great maneuverability and broad options for indoor activities. Additionally, with the compatibility across the QUICKIE power platform, we have ensured that the product can be truly configured to meet user needs and is still easily maintained."
