Concord, Ontario, Sunrise Medical Canada Inc. is the official wheelchair partner for the Men’s U23 World Wheelchair Basketball Championship. Sunrise is proud to grow this relationship established back in 2014 during the Women’s World Championship in Toronto. More about the World Junior Championship
The Men’s U23 World Championship is a tournament featuring over 400 athletes, coaches, delegates and volunteers. It includes 42 games scheduled over 8 days, click here to see the schedule.
The competition will be held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto from June 8 to 16, 2017. One of the goals for the event is to raise the profile and general awareness about the abilities of athletes and to demonstrate the inclusive nature of wheelchair basketball sport.
More about the School Program
The Wheelchair Basketball Schools Program is designed to educate teachers and students about the sport of wheelchair basketball and encourage youth, with or without a disability, to be physically active.The inclusive program generates awareness for parasport and promotes positive attitudinal change toward disability.

Sunrise Medical Canada has been involved with supplying Quickie basketball wheelchairs for the program. The program is offered this year in over 120 schools mainly in Ontario. This program is made possible with the initiative of Wheelchair Basketball Canada, the Ontario Wheelchairs Sports Association and the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an Agency of the government of Ontario.;
